Cancelling your Appointment

If you are unable to attend an appointment with one of the doctors or nurses, please telephone or use the link at the bottom of this page to cancel your appointment.

By giving us as much notice as you can you are helping us to make sure that someone else is given your slot.

Flu Season

We are now getting towards the end of the majority of the flu vaccinations in the practice.  Over the next few weeks the last of the at risk groups should have been in for the annual flu vaccation.  Anyone who has not yet received an appointment should phone the practice - around mid November.  NOTE - if you are housebound and normally have the district nurse visit, then they will be starting their vaccination programme shortly.

We have over 2000 patients to vaccinate each year, so we are grateful for everyone's attendance and especially to the nurses for administering the vaccine.

Late Patients

If you are late for your appointment, the reception staff will check with the GP to see if you will still be seen, however if you are more than 10 minutes late you will have to rebook.   If you feel you must be seen, please speak to the receptionist who can update the GP.

greenpillsRepeat Prescriptions

Repeat prescriptions can be requested by phone (846746), by ticking the required medicine on the tear off part of your prescription or by following the link on this page to the secure online form (you will need to carry out the simple one-off registration).

Prescriptions  may be collected directly from the surgery or returned to you in your stamped addressed envelope.

Your prescription will be dealt with and completed in 2 working days for collection after 4.00pm. e.g. Prescription requests made on a Friday will be ready by the following Tuesday after 4.00pm unless there is a Monday holiday in which case it would be Wednesday after 4.00pm. (This is also the case for medicines requested on a discharge letter from the hospital.)

Some local pharmacists operate a collection service.  Note if you wish your prescriptions to go to a different pharmacy from your usual you will need to add a comment at the end.  It will be changed on this occasion but not permanently until we receive written confirmation from the new pharmacy that they are now collecting your scripts.  Note - please allow extra time if you order on-line and have your prescription picked up by a pharmacy as they don't always come in every day or may come in before your prescription has been signed.  The 48 hour turnaround mainly applies to patients who collect from the practice.

Please remember that it is your responsibility to ensure you order medication in plenty of time.

NB  When we mention prescription - we mean the paper detailing the medication required and signed by the GP and not the actual medication itself.  We are not a dispensing practice and do not have medication at the practice.  You are still required to take the prescription to the pharmacy.
