Late Patients
If you are late for your appointment, the reception staff will check with the GP to see if you will still be seen, however if you are more than 10 minutes late you will have to re-book. If you feel you must be seen, please speak to the receptionist who can update the GP.

Know Who To Turn To (KWTTT)


When someone is ill or injured it is important that they go to the right

service to ensure they get the right advice, treatment and support for

recovery. NHS Grampian's Know Who To Turn To (KWTTT)

information leaflet and website gives

practical advice on which service to contact to get help with illness

and injury.

The KWTTT staff information campaign was launched in May 2013 to

support staff in communicating and reinforcing key messages of

KWTTT with colleagues, families, partners and the public. Staff

engagement sessions were held in various sites across Grampian focusing on a staff

information DVD that had been produced. To view the DVD, please visit


A KWTTT public awareness campaign which ran from November to December 2013,

included a leaflet door drop to 57,000 households in postcode areas identified as having a

high usage of Emergency Departments. A television advertisement was also part of the

campaign and 372,000 adults in the North East of Scotland were expected to see the

advert at least once.

KWTTT will be visiting the Scottish Kids Show in June 2014 to engage with parents around

the range of health services available and provide top tips on first aid for the under 5s as

well as how to make the most of their community pharmacy.


6. 111 – the new free telephone number for NHS 24


The telephone number for NHS 24 has changed to 111. This new number will ensure

people can access the service via a landline or mobile phone free of charge. NHS 24 is for

people who are ill when their GP surgery is closed, either through the night or at the

weekend, and cannot wait until it reopens. More details can be found at

7. Clinical Decision Support Service


The Clinical Decision Support Service was launched on 2 September

2013. The service covers Grampian and provides a dedicated

telephone line which allows GPs, paramedics, advanced nurse

practitioners, minor injury nurses, rig medics and offshore doctors, to

have direct access to a senior consultant/doctor who can support

them to put in place the best care plan for their patient.

Sometimes, the most appropriate outcome will be for treatment to be

administered in the person’s home. This may not only be a better

arrangement for the person and their family, but will also contribute to

relieving pressure on stretched emergency departments. If transfer to

hospital is required, this can be planned depending on the individual’s circumstances. The

clinical team can then be informed so that they are prepared for an individual’s arrival.
